The second-type absorption heat pump, also known as a temperature-boosting heat pump, utilizes a large amount of medium-temperature heat source to generate a small amount of high-temperature useful heat energy. It operates by using medium- and low-temperature heat as the driving energy, exploiting the thermal potential difference between medium- and low-temperature sources. The output heat quantity is lower than the input but at a higher temperature than the medium-temperature source, effectively upgrading part of the thermal energy to a higher temperature level, thereby improving the utility of the heat source. The Coefficient of Performance (COP) of second-type absorption heat pumps is always less than 1, typically ranging from 0.4 to 0.5. It does not require high-temperature driving heat sources but does require relatively low-temperature cooling water.
Waste Heat Sources: Waste hot water above 80°C, exhausted steam, steam, single- or multi-component gases or liquids
Heat Output: Delivers heating media or steam approximately 40°C higher than the waste heat source, up to a maximum of 175°C, for use in high-temperature process heating or space heating
Cooling Water Source: Cooling tower circulating water, cooling water from process systems
Steam Supply Pressure: Up to 0.8 MPa
Steam Supply Flow Rate: 0.3–25 t/h
Application Fields: Petroleum and petrochemical industry, steel, chemical fiber, chlor-alkali, fertilizer, rubber, alcohol, paper making, polysilicon, and other industries
